How to scrap your car in Woking

If you have a scrap car in or around Woking it’s a simple process to get it scrapped for free.

  1. Give us a ring and arrange a time for us to collect your scrap car and provide as many details as you can about the car.
  2. We collect the vehicle and the logbook at the allotted time. If you like you can send us the logbook before hand. (If you are not in possession on the logbook for the scrap car, we are still able to tow it away, but you will need to tell us beforehand and you will need to contact the DVLA in writing to let them know you are having the car scrapped.)
  3. You get section 9 of the logbook back, together with an intent of destructioncertificate.
  4. You should then send section 9 to the DVLA.
  5. We make a SORN (inform the DVLA that the vehicle is now off the road) and send the DVLA the rest of the logbook so that the car can be de-registered.
  6. You should be notified by the DVLA within 4 to 6 weeks.

What happens to your scrap car?

Once we’ve taken your scrap car we first remove the tyres and the battery and any other parts that could be reused. Then we remove the catalytic converter and other parts which can be recycled. We remove an fuel remaining in your scrap car as well as any hazardous parts. Finally, the vehicle is crushed.
